~ Weekend Thought: Who Am I Not?
For a long time, throughout the ages, we have been asking, "Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?", making this simple question the very basis of humanity and existence. And we know that we haven't found the answer. We know that many people have come and gone, and we don’t have an answer to this question: "Who am I?"
But I think we have been asking the wrong question throughout this time. I think the question should be, “Who am I not?”
If, every day, we asked, “Who am I not?”, I think we would not need any pep talk or any motivational speech or anything to keep our spirits high. A simple question: “Who am I not?”
"I don’t know who I am, but I know who I am not." Maybe that's it. It's about eliminating things from the self rather than trying to add additional vanity meaning.
I will probably never know who I am. Maybe I am infinite, the universe itself. Maybe I am everything. But if I say, "Who am I not?" I am not a liar. I am not selfish. I am not my fear. If I find who I am not, I think I would know who I am.
Ask it every day; what remains will be you. What do you think you are not?
